I’d been lurking inside the thick vegetation past the menhir line, a couple of hundred meters away from my colony. Nausea I’d felt before when venturing past the menhir line was still present. Though it was somewhat more tolerable than before, it still made things more difficult for me. I’d decided to stay low and had been hiding for over an hour, luckily undetected by any of the local dangerous wildlife.

Sal had remained behind at the colony as a precaution. It was too dangerous to have him out here—a point that was proven correct a few moments later as the ground trembled slightly. Something big approached the clearing next to my hiding spot, then a three-meter-tall lizard that looked a lot like a snapper lumbered past my hiding spot.
